About Me!

Hey Everone! My name is Alyssa Montalbano. I am a junior at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst working towards a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Communication with a minor in Sociology.

Writing has been a passion of mine ever since I was young. My senior year in high school I began interning at a local newspaper, The Gardner News, where I had a column on the Voice Page, a page written solely by high school students.

The Summer of 2007 I began working at The Gardner News where I wrote hard news stories along with health and entertainment stories for the paper. I also helped lay out pages used Quark.

Since I’ve been in college, I have written for school newspaper, The Daily Collegian and taken numerous classes to help improve my writing skills as well as branch out into the world of multimedia. This is one of my first blogs, so be patient with me and my writing, because I hope to improve it throughout the year!
